G.Sweet 9th – 22nd April

Hi Sam,

You put together the perfect trip!

Topped off by an evening filled with one great surprise after another.  The staff at the Tongabezi Lodge went all out to give us a memorable finish to our birthday celebration.

This place and the entire vacation for that matter was more than we hoped for.

Thank you,

Dear Dave,

We thought the safari was incredible – our girls are now describing it as their most favorite holiday (and they are pretty well traveled!)

I’d say the highlight was how close we could get to the animals – they were completely comfortable with the safari trucks!
We also thought the people at Kwando were lovely and we were so happy to be supporting local communities.
Have told friends of ours who are going in August that they will be pleased with Kwando!
Thank you again for all of your hard work helping us organize the trip!

Good morning Amelia,
Out Safari trip was fabulous!  It was all I hoped for and more.  Thank you so much for suggesting Lemala/Nanyukie camp.
All the people we dealt with at Hamerkop and Nanyukie were friendly, helpful and just plain wonderful.
I am just so excited about this trip that I can’t contain myself!
Thank you Amelia for guiding us to this adventure.

Hi Sam,

Great to hear from you. I have way more to share as only on day 2 of Uganda. Just haven’t had much time or internet hasn’t been fast enough to share.
We had an amazing time in Uganda. Nkuringo gorilla lodge was superb and our driver Wilson was amazing. He secured theee groups with babies for us.
We are definitely interested in Greystoke Mahale and Zambia for the future.

Hello Dave,
We saw all of the animals we had hoped to see, and the food, accommodations, guides, and overall experience were truly top notch. Thank you again for all your work putting everything together. It has definitely picked up in terms of tourist volume compared to a decade ago — more jeeps and camps than we remembered — but it was still an incredible experience.

Hi Sam
We had a wonderful in Tanzania and thank you so much for arranging a great itinerary. You provided an excellent service from start to finish as well.
Our unplanned 10 hours drive from Diani to Arusha turned out to be a great way to see both Kenya and Tanzania!
Kind regards

Good morning Amelia,

Thanks for your email, we just arrived to back home.
We have had a dream holiday. All went perfectly, the hotel is beautiful, the staff there more than excellent.
Weather perfect, beach perfect.
Thank you.

Hi Sam,

Magashi and Akagera were fabulous. Possibly the happiest / friendliest / most genuine camp staff I have ever come across, and the wildlife experience was incredible! If only they had wild dogs there, I would say it’s the best (or equal to the best) I’ve ever experienced.

Hi Sam,

Ruaha was awesome – a true (and rare) African wilderness and at a time of year when the whole place was very largely ours! Quite remarkable.
Both camps were amazing (we were the only guest at Kichaka and for one of our three nights at Ikuka and then only one other couple) but very different and blended well together (well done!). Being only guests brings the whole experience to a different level particularly at Kichaka, the more rustic and remote spot. Walking at Kichaka was extraordinary.
Thank you again!

Hi Sam,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Our vacation was truly terrific, and I can’t thank you enough for your help in putting it all together.

Although we had a fantastic time with our kids during the first week in South Africa, I can’t begin to express how refreshing it was to put aside all my itineraries (which I had planned myself) and not have to worry about checking in for flights, staying in the right place, or navigating airports safely.

I want to especially mention the Asilia team. At each transfer, we were greeted by a representative holding a sheet with our names, welcoming us with a smile and perfect English. The team guided us through every airport situation, giving us peace of mind and ensuring smooth customs clearance.

The highlights of our trip included the two stunning locations—the Highlands in Ngorongoro and Olakira Migration Camp. Both were spectacular, and the food and service there were beyond excellent. Each place assigned us a guide responsible for all our transfers and game drives. The staff went above and beyond to make our 30th anniversary honeymoon special, with cake, songs, and dancing—truly memorable.

This trip was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. From the hot air balloon ride to every game drive, it was unbelievable. We witnessed a wildebeest birth, watched a leopard drag an antelope into a tree, saw a mother cheetah with her cubs, elephants washing in the river, hippos emerging at night, and lions resting after a feast—all within about ten feet of us. It was simply spectacular!

We’re currently adjusting to the time change and getting back to work, but I wanted to send a quick note to thank you and let you know everything went perfectly!

I’ll attach some photos—though, as you know, they never quite do it justice! Thanks again for all your help. I will highly recommend Africa Odyssey to anyone interested in an unforgettable safari experience, and we appreciated how much we utilized the Vamoos app to follow our itinerary.

In regards to future travel, my husband and I are considering Egypt or possibly Patagonia for next Christmas/New Years. We will be traveling with our children who like to be active – we did white water rafting and swimming at the top of Victoria Falls this trip and hiked Machu Picchu last Christmas so it will be hard to top those things!

Thanks again!
